Military Production Organisation Approvals

Introduction

Military Production Organisation Approval (MPOA) may be awarded to organisations that can successfully demonstrate to DASA their capability to manufacture items approved under a Military Type Certificate (MTC), Military Supplemental Type Certificate (MSTC), Major or Minor Change Approval, Repair Design Approval, or an Australian Military Technical Standard order (AUSMTSO) Authorisation. MPOA will normally only be awarded under the Defence Aviation Safety Program (DASP) when recognition of a foreign airworthiness authority’s production approval is not viable.

MPOAs will be accompanied by an associated set of privileges allowing the organisation to undertake certain functions without DASA’s direct involvement in the process.

What We Do

DASA will award MPOA to organisations that apply and can successfully demonstrate their ability to comply with DASR 21 Subpart G.

DASA will also conduct an oversight program of all MPOA holders to assure the continuing validity of their approval and privileges.

How Do I Apply?

Applications for MPOA can be made to DASA using DASR Form 50. Applications for changes to an existing MPOA can be made using DASR Form 51.

MPOA holders are required to identify key management personnel and furnish their credentials to DASA, via a DASR Form 4, in order that they may be seen to be appropriate in terms of relevant knowledge and satisfactory experience related to the nature of the production activities as performed by the organisation.
