Introduction
A Military Certificate of Airworthiness (MCoA) is issued for an individual aircraft that conforms to the type design approved under the product’s Military Type Certificate (MTC). This also requires any modifications, repairs or production deviations installed on the aircraft to be approved under DASR 21, or under a recognised national civil or military airworthiness framework.
The aircraft operating organisation is responsible for the continuing validity of the Military Certificate of Airworthiness. If a MCoA becomes invalid, the aircraft operating organisation must return the aircraft to an airworthy condition to restore the validity of the certificate. A new MCoA is only required if the aircraft is being returned to the Defence Register after removal, or the certificate is revoked by DASA.
Certificates of Airworthiness issued prior to 30 Sep 16 remain valid unless they are replaced by a DASR equivalent or withdrawn.
What We Do
DASA will issue a Military Certificate of Airworthiness following an application from the aircraft’s operating organisation presenting evidence the aircraft conforms to its approved type design. This includes a physical survey of the aircraft.
How Do I Apply?
Aircraft operating organisations can apply to DASA for a Certificate of Airworthiness using DASR Form 25a.
