Introduction

ADF aircraft are increasingly using complex electronic hardware to undertake safety related functions. The ADF must ensure proper behaviour of processing hardware and electronics to meet safety and capability requirements. Due to the nature of complex electronic hardware, a ‘hybrid’ approach to assuring the integrity of the equipment, containing elements of both software and hardware assurance, is adopted.
