Introduction
ADF Crash Protection policy requires current and future aircraft, where reasonably practicable, to meet contemporary crash protection standards to afford the occupants of those aircraft an appropriate level of safety during survivable accidents. To optimise occupant protection, a systems approach to crash protection is necessary, encompassing five key crash protection principles: aircraft crash resistance, occupant retention, cargo and equipment retention, post-crash emergency escape and post-crash injury prevention.
