Introduction to Defence Aviation Safety (IDAS) Guidebook The Introduction to Defence Aviation Safety Guidebook is issued by the Defence Aviation Authority to familiarise those working in Defence aviation with the Defence Aviation Safety Framework and Program. The Guidebook describes the imperative for Defence’s approach to Aviation Safety as well as the domestic and international context. It identifies the responsibility of Defence aviation commanders and managers to ensure safety in contrast to the independent safety assurance role of the Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA). The Guidebook includes a short description of each part of the Defence Aviation Safety Regulation and the corresponding authorisations issued by DASA. |
